Love is a double edged sword for the young 27 year old songwriter Jay Andrew. With over 700 shows to date, Jay has been through it all, exposing his experiences in life, passion, and love to one listener at a time. Playing next to acts such as Juelz Santana, A Tribe Called Quest, Mos Def and Talib Kweli, Jay was able to hone the presentation of his art into what has become his first record “Safe In Sound”

Jay’s intense sentiment and descriptive imagery, make “Safe In Sound” a window into the precise perception of the hearts joys and sorrows. Lyrically, Jay is unapologetically expository: “In the silence of it all, all you can see and feel is the purest love…in its purest form…putting your freckles in a line”. Jay Andrew’s first record “Safe in Sound” is currently streaming on Jay’s website www.JayAndrewMusic.com and will see an official release through In Flight Music Group this Spring.

Introduced to music through his parents record collection, Jay picked up his first guitar at the age of 9 (it was a gift given to him by his mother). The sounds he heard from Paul Simon, the Beatles, Al Green, and Barry White, inspired Jay to dream. He began to use his experiences of love and loss to create his own music. Although growing up in the Punk and Emo scene of 90′s New York made it difficult at first, by the time Jay was 14 he had started performing at local coffee shops and events throughout his native Long Island. Over the years his music followed him through college in Virginia, to Dowling University where he obtained his BA in Writing and Psychology and a Masters in English Education.

Jay now has his feet firmly planted in Los Angeles, at least until Tour Dates are announce for this Summer!

“One of the hardest battles is facing “You”, and I have found a place safe in sound.” – Jay Andrew

Where the f**k has rock gone? Los Angeles four piece “Running The Risk” have been wondering just that. “It makes it really hard to put together a fun bill for Friday night when every other band in LA seems to be whining about there shitty girlfriend, Grow some balls hombre”. Says vocalist Nicki Taylor.

“No worries, we’ll take it from here”. Seems to be their stance on the future. There’s a lot of sound to come out of the small package known as Nicki Taylor

Maria Nyren asked, “How does it feel to be the next big thing?” in an interview for Cosmopolitan.com

With Running The Risk set to release there first official EP “Because We Can Part No. 1” this Spring through indie In Flight Music Group, all systems are go. The vinyl 7” release contains two songs you may have heard before: Black Sabbath’s “War Pigs” (which has been flipped, turned, and jacked up) along with Talk Talk’s “Talk Talk”. The band has been hush hush about where the idea to mix these two songs came from,  they’re only explanation so far has been “Because We Can”, which has now become the title. Tour Dates  along the West Coast will be announced along with the release of in December.

“I obviously couldn’t give you any advice on music. You’ve got your fuckin’ hustle on,” said Jock, DJ @ New Rock 104.1 Fresno.

Their first output as a group was a collection of tunes/err demos rightfully called “The Monster EP” which contained original songs centered around impulses of love, hate, and re-birth. The Too Far Gone decided to give the EP way for free, and it quickly spread around the web, gaining positive reviews from fans and critics alike. As well as radio play around Central California.

Blogger TotallyFuzzy said, “If it’s true what it says on SoundCloud, that this is still just a demo – I don’t believe it for a second! – then you better hold on to your horses – and your trousers – for the finished product.”

The lineup consists of vocalist Nicki Taylor who grew up singing at state fairs, guitarist Nick Bell who maybe “Van Halen himself” says KLOS 95.5 Los Angeles , bassist Curtis Corwin formally of “Skyrocket Love”, & drummer Arron Cohan formally of “Bleed the Dream”.
